About Me
I've always loved history. I started participating on archaeology digs when I was 13. I wanted to be a museum educator because I am passionate about children enjoying learning. I'm very patient and will help students find what learning style works best for them.
Education
I attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama from 1990-1993. I earned a BA major in History, and a minor in Anthropology. I attended Armstrong Atlantic State University (currently known as Georgia Southern) 1993-1997. I earned a MA in public history specializing in archival and museum studies.
Teaching Experience
I taught Middle Grades Social Studies (grades 5-10) from 2004-2006. I served as an Americorps mentor/ tutor from 2006-2010 through a local organization called Hart Partners. I also taught parenting classes, job skills preparedness and adult beginning computer classes.
Interests
During COVID, I picked up my DSLR camera and took on-line classes to learn to really use it. I love photography.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
